A Compressor That Was Sold All over the World

The most widely sold AC Compressor in the world is the 10601N. Currently operating in millions of different vehicles, this Air Conditioning Compressor trumps sales of any other A/C pump in history. From 1996 – 2001, this HT6 Compressor can be found on a Chevrolet Tahoe.

With this Compressor, there were a few serious issues. Because of the way it was designed, there were two cylinders that meshed together. One of the cylinders would slide into the other. A gasket needed to be installed to keep these two bodies from leaking. Unfortunately, the A/C Compressor was made out of aluminum. Aluminum will get larger and smaller with heat and cold.

Thankfully, a change was needed in how the A/C Compressor for these GM vehicles was manufactured. Manufacturers in China partnered with many vendors in the United States and came up with an optimal solution. A redesigned Air Conditioning Compressor was created that would not leak from the previous spot that always failed.

I haven’t tackled this one for awhile because I have always been so busy with the new baby, but now it is time to look at my body and decide what I want to do with it again. Bayahibe is a small town way down on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, about 2 hours from Punta Cana (or a little less if you are staying more south on the east coast). The area is not really well known as a tourist town but there is a growing interest in staying there and there are some places to stay right in Bayahibe. However, just 2-3 miles away is Dominicus which is basically a beautiful beach with some resorts that border the Parque Nacional del Este. There is more interest in heading out to Saona Island than any other part of this park. However, the inland areas are also fun to explore with all the caves and other geological formations which also show amazing signs of historical significance. The Taino left many cave paintings and other signs of their culture that existed before the arrival of the Spaniards.

It was after the eleventh hour when Wil finally found his way back to Hanging Tree. He had been lost, but strangely enough, it was the sword that seemed to guide him home. He now followed one of the many well-worn paths that skirted the outside of the village. Even at this hour a few candles and lanterns lit the windows of sturdy timber and stone houses. Most of the villagers would be ready for sleep, but Wil still heard boisterous voices from afar at the Boar and Otter. Perhaps one of the voices belonged to Grundy?
